NWSETUP Instructions: Copy NWSETUP.DLL and NWSETUP.INI to the client source file directory (where SETUP.EXE is run from) If (and only if) you are preparing an MSBATCH configuration, then copy both NWSETUP.DLL and NWCLIENT.INF to the MSBATCH source files. The NWCLIENT.INF included in this file is ONLY for MSBATCH installations. ISSUE: ************************************ CLIENT32.NLM ************************************ TID 2931445 Using the intraNetWare Client 2.2 for Windows 95 or for DOS/Windows 3.x, some DOS applications developed to work with NetWare servers in a multi-user environment are unable to detect that a logical record lock has been set by another application. TID 2930485 If two long directory names share the same path and the first 8 characters of the directory name, a MAP ROOT to the second directory created will actually map to the first directory created or generate the error: "Login-4.20.42-470: The specified drive mapping is an invalid path" if the user does not have rights to the first directory. TID 2918994 Using Lacerte 1996 on Windows 95, the auto-calculation never completes. TID 2932371 Using Insurance Quote Program, a DOS program that gives insurance quotes, using Client32 (for Windows 95 or DOS/Windows 3.x) the following error is returned: "Sharing Violation Writing to Device Network. Abort, Retry, Fail?" TID 2932301 Application fails if low on memory. Using a custom written SmallTalk application on Windows 95 or DOS/Windows 3.x, the application ends with an Illegal Page Fault when the machine is low on memory. TID 2932373 Volume mounts/dismounts are not updated in NWUSER and File Manager. For example, when a user is logged in to the server and they mount/dismount volumes, the new volume information is not updated in NWUSER or File Manager. TID 2930287 After getting an NDS connection to a tree, there is no way to get a bindery connection to servers in that same tree with the v2.2 intraNetWare Client for Windows 95. TID 2932374 As reported by Commercial Logic, Inc. the intraNetWare Client 2.2 (and previous versions of Client32) were not correctly processing I/O requests for files using file control blocks (FCBs). This resulted in a variety of symptoms including failure to read binary files using FCBs and failure to read more than 32k records in text files using FCBs. TID 2932284 NCOPY fails with long file name path. Error returned is: "The system cannot execute the specified program." TID 2926192 After installing LAN Workplace Pro (LWPPro) and enabling the NFS client, the workstation cannot map more than 4 or 5 search drives. If the NFS client is disabled, then search drive mappings can be mapped as normal. TID 2930501 The Client was not retrying a canceled send packet. The Client does not do any retries but puts up the pop up box that communication to the server has failed. The message displayed is: Network Status CLIENT32: Please wait while System retries request to . To stop waiting, press Enter. NetWare will then return an error and try to reconnect in the background. ****************************************** NOVELLNP.DLL ****************************************** TID 2927845, TID 2932375 Losing connection while saving a Word 97 document, and using Word 97 in general. TID 2929452 Login Script Results Don't Show with Dial-up Networking. Note: CLIENT32.NLM is also required. TID 2929518 Losing drive mappings and connections using a Microsoft Office 97 application like MS Word 97. The loss of connection could occur at various times (i.e., when saving a file). ****************************************** NWSETUP.DLL ****************************************** TID 2930301 The installation process for the intraNetWare Client 2.2 for Windows 95 removes spaces from Queue names in the registry. ****************************************** VMLID.NLM ****************************************** TID 2932309 NDIS mini port drivers were not closing when Shutting Down Windows 95. When this happened on token-ring, the adapter would stay inserted in the ring. After a while the adapter would cause problems on the ring and make the ring inoperable. ****************************************** LGNW9532.DLL ****************************************** TID 2931587 The code was modified to use the NDS case for the %LOGIN_NAME variable instead of the case typed in by the user at login time. TID 2932880 Using the GUI Login (Windows 95), if the following statements are in the login script: MAP S1:=SYS:\PUBLIC\ MAP S3:=S1:ADMIN then the results are: a logical mapping to Z: of SYS:\PUBLIC\ADMIN and a search drive S3: of SYS:\PUBLIC. Under DOS login (LOGIN.EXE) the results are: a search drive S1 to SYS:\PUBLIC and a search drive S3 to SYS:\PUBLIC\ADMIN TID 2932882 The NetWare network provider would not function due to an incorrect localization of the provider DLL. For Spanish 95 Client, apply \ESPANOL\NOVELNPR.DLL dated 10-31-97. For Portuguese 95 Client, apply \PORTUGUE\NOVELNPR.DLL dated 10-31-97. ************************************* NWLINK2.VXD ************************************* TID 2937832 If you run ManageWise 2.x on Windows 95 with the IntraNetWare Client 2.20 for Windows 95 (Border Manager Client, August 1997 release) and then run Compaq Insight Manager, Insight "steals" the IPX SNMP socket from ManageWise. This revision of NWLINK2 addresses a conflict between IPX sockets in use by Novell APIs when an OpenSocket attempt is made by a Microsoft Winsock application. To prevent this conflict, NWLINK2 now reports to Winsock applications that the IPX socket table is full. ************************************ NWSETUP ************************************ TID 2936302 If both the Microsoft Client for Microsoft Networks and the Novell Client for Windows 95 are installed, when the intraNetWare Client v2.20 for Windows 95 is installed, the Novell Client will become the Primary Network Logon even if the MS Client was previously configured as the Primary Network Logon. With this updated NWSETUP.DLL and NWSETUP.INI, the administrator can determine in the NWSETUP.INI whether or not the Primary Network Logon should be modified. TID 2929660 After integrating the intraNetWare Client v2.2 for Windows 95 with a MSBATCH installation, the following error occurs every time: "Application error. Call to undefined dynalink". The error occurs when the installation comes to the "network" dialog (after "System detection"). TID 2933943 On any workstations that have a path of 128 characters or greater in the autoexec.bat, the path becomes corrupt after setup.exe is run. TID 2933944 Using the intraNetWare Client 2.20 for Windows 95, PATH=C:\Novell\Client32;%PATH% is added multiple times to autoexec.bat, once each time setup.exe is run. TID 2930301 The installation process for the IntranetWare Client 2.2 for Windows 95 removes spaces from Queue names in the registry. TID 2934055 Uprading from Microsofts NDS Client to IntranetWare Client for Windows 95 v2.20 generates error messages with permanent drive mappings. The following error occurred while reconnecting h: to \\$NDS\path... Permanent connection not available. Do you want to restore the connection the next time you log on? TID 2929660 During the MSBATCH setup, the files NWPASSWR.DLL and NWSHELLR.DLL are not found (Windows 95 Setup is looking in the WIN95 source directory). The files NWPASSWR.DLL and NWSHELLR.DLL are being copied to the WIN95\NLS\English directory during INFINST, but then the W95 Setup does not find them. ******************************************* NIOS.VXD ******************************************* These problems only occur on a double byte localized versions of Windows 95 (Korean, Chinese, etc.) with the intraNetWare Client for Windows 95 installed. 1. The Korean Windows 95 workstation hangs when user tries to access (copy or read) directories or files on a network drive. This hang usually manifests itself with a blue screen. These problems occur when handling certain double-bytes characters (ASCII values AAH,AEh, and BFh) in directory operations, such as create, rename, delete, etc. 2. When a user tries to access a network drive from a Korean version of Windows 95, the network drive displays an empty directory. The NetWare volume is visable via the drive mapping, but the user cannot browse its contents 3. Chinese Windows 95 Workstation hangs while trying to create a directory within the Windows 95 Explorer. The default directory name provided by Chinese Windows 95 is 'B7h 73h B8h EAh AEh C6h A7h A8h' which is the Chinese 'New Folder'. Patterns such as '1234AEh C6h A7h A8h' also cause the workstation to hang.
