ABSTRACT:

34_SRVLOC.EXE contains updates for the Novell Client for Windows 95/98. This
file can be installed on the Novell Client 3.4 for Windows 95/98.

34_SRVLOC.EXE is a "beta" patch, meaning that the files in this patch may
include files of pre-release quality which have not been fully tested by Novell
and which may contain errors. See

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

The following installation instructions assume that the Novell Client for
Windows 95/98 v3.4 client has already been installed.

Prior to installing any update you should ensure that you have a reliable
backup.

1. Expand the self-extracting file 34_SRVLOC.EXE (this file) to a temporary
folder.
2. Open the folder.
3. (recommended, but optional) Rename the existing file (with a .old extension,
for example) which will be replaced with this patch kit in the following
location.
  \Novell\Client32
     SRVLOC.NLM
Do not reboot before continuing!
4. Right-Click on _34_SRVLOC.INF and then click on INSTALL.
5. You may be prompted to reboot. If you are not prompted to reboot, be sure to
reboot the machine in order to complete the installation of these files.

Another method to install is to manually copy and replace the existing file.
Keep in mind that the file might be currently accessed by the operating system;
to work around this (which is only true if you manually copy the file) you can
rename the original file and then copy the new SRVLOC.NLM into the
\Novell\Client32 directory.

== OVERLAYING THE 34CLT95e.exe INSTALLATION SET ==

If you want to do an overlay (an installation of Novell client v3.4 together
with this patch), please copy the file to the 3.4 installation set as follows:
  Copy the new SRVLOC.NLM into the \IBM_ENU directory.

This build of SRVLOC.NLM fixes an SLP send packet loop that was introduced with
SRVLOC.NLM dated 02Apr2004 (	included in 34pkc.exe). This problem will appear
as a hang when starting the system. (380092)
