SUMMARY

This article explains how to set up chained SCSI CD-ROM drives as separate shares on a LAN Manager 2.2, OS/2 1.3 server. When you install OS/2 1.3, the CD-ROM drivers are installed in the CONFIG.SYS:
   REM ----------------------------------
   DEVICE=C:\OS2\SUPPORT\DENON.VSD
   DEVICE=C:\OS2\SUPPORT\STDCDROM.VSD
   DEVICE=C:\OS2\SUPPORT\CDROM.TSD
   IFS=C:\OS2\SUPPORT\CDFS.IFS
   REM ----------------------------------

When you boot, the CD-ROMs become active immediately as D, E, F, and so on.

To share the drives under OS/2, type this line (with the appropriate drive letter) in the CONFIG.SYS:

net share cdrom1=e: /permissions:rx /remark:"cdrom drive one"
