AST Machines Hang w/WFWG and IPX Loaded when Printing (99195)

SYMPTOMS

When printing to a shared laser printer on a LAN Manager server, LAN Manager clients sometimes hang. This happens to all AST machines set up with Windows for Workgroups, but only with IPX loaded under Windows for Workgroups. It has not been observed with any other machines.

CAUSE

The Fast Printing Direct To Port option is turned ON.

RESOLUTION

In the WFWG control panel, select Printers, then select Connect. Turn OFF Fast Printing Direct To Port. It is turned ON by default.
