Correct Parameters to Install HP Ethertwist MCA Card (99151)

SYMPTOMS

The Hewlett-Packard (HP) Ethertwist MCA card (Mod 27246A) installation may give the error "Net 0153," which means there is an illegal parameter in the PROTOCOL.INI file.

CAUSE

The [hp-lan] section in PROTOCOL.INI contains two parameters specifying "IOADDRESS =" and "Interrupt =". MCA machines do not use these parameters, and a "Net 0153" error results.

RESOLUTION

Comment out the "IOADDRESS = " and "Interrupt=" lines in PROTOCOL.INI, then reboot the machine.
