How to Run CHKDSK from HPFS Recovery Disk (98494)

SUMMARY

Here is the procedure for running CHKDSK from the HPFS recovery disk:

  1. From Disk 1, copy the files UHPFS.DLL and CHKDSK.COM to the HPFS Recovery disk.
  2. On the HPFS Recovery disk, add this line to the end of CONFIG.SYS:

    call=a:\chkdsk.com c: /f :3

  3. Save the changes to CONFIG.SYS.
You can now run CHKDSK.
