Works: Making a Backup Copy (97936)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Works 2.0
- Microsoft Works 2.0a
- Microsoft Windows 3.0
- Microsoft Windows 3.1
This article was previously published under Q97936 SUMMARY
The "Microsoft Works for Windows User's Guide" describes the Make
Backup Copy function as creating an "identical, backup copy" of the
original document. The backup copy is actually one version older than
the currently saved file and is not identical to the currently saved
file.
MORE INFORMATION
Works updates the backup file each time you save the original file.
Each time a document is saved, the file is renamed and saved as it was
prior to your last changes. The renamed file becomes the new backup
copy. To create an identical backup, choose Save from the File menu
twice. This functionality is by design.
