The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft LAN Manager 2.1
- Microsoft LAN Manager 2.1a
- Microsoft LAN Manager 2.2
This article was previously published under Q97822 SUMMARY
Here is a procedure for connecting a LAN Manager workstation to a 3Com
CS2100 communications server using the BAPI interface and XNS protocol.
Note: You must have XNSNB dated 2-10-92 or later.
- Install XNSNB on the workstation.
- Insert these parameters in the [xnsnb_xif] section of PROTOCOL.INI:
COURIERLIBRARY=YES (Allows the courier interface to be loaded.)
MAXPROCESSES=12 (Sets the machine's maximum number of processes.)
NB_HBINT=60 (Sets the heartbeat interval with the locator. You
must have XNSNB dated 2-10-92 or later: other
versions cause the workstation to hang after 10-15
seconds.)
MACIRQ=3 (Must equal the IRQ of the adapter card being used.
You must have XNSNB dated 2-10-92 or later for this
parameter to be recognized.) - Load XNSNB on the workstation and run the XNSBAPI program to load
BAPI. Any communications software that is BAPI-aware should now be
able to access the CS2100 communications server.
