DoubleSpace Does Not Mount Hardcard Drive Automatically (97578)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft MS-DOS operating system 6.0
- Microsoft MS-DOS operating system 6.2
- Microsoft MS-DOS operating system 6.22
This article was previously published under Q97578
This information applies to both Microsoft DoubleSpace and Microsoft
DriveSpace. For MS-DOS 6.22, use DRVSPACE in place of DBLSPACE for commands
and filenames.
SUMMARY
DoubleSpace can be used to compress a Hardcard drive (other than the
startup drive) that requires a driver in the CONFIG.SYS file. However,
DoubleSpace may not automatically mount such a drive at system startup
because the DoubleSpace driver (DBLSPACE.BIN) is loaded with IO.SYS
before MS-DOS processes the CONFIG.SYS file.
