Chart titles in Microsoft Works for Windows can only be 39 characters in length. Though you may be able to enter more than 39 characters for the title, only 39 characters are displayed.

To create a chart title with more than 39 characters, follow these steps:

  1. In the Chart window, click Copy from the Edit menu.
  2. Open or create a Works Word Processor document.
  3. Place the insertion point where you want the chart to be inserted.
  4. From the Insert menu, click Drawing.
  5. In Microsoft Draw, click Paste from the Edit menu.
  6. Click a blank area of the Microsoft Draw window.
  7. Add the additional characters to the title. To edit the title, either double-click the title or select the title and click Edit Text from the Edit menu.
  8. From the File menu, click Exit And Return To <Document> where <Document> is the name of the Word Processor document.
  9. Click Yes to update the Word Processor Document.
