Works 2.0: Field Name Cannot Contain a Left Apostrophe (97043)

SUMMARY

When used in a Database field name, a left apostrophe (') becomes a quotation mark (").

For example, the field name

Ret'n Date

becomes

Ret"n Date

Workaround

A right apostrophe (`) can be used in a field name.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Works for Windows version 2.0. This problem was resolved in Microsoft Works 3.0 and later.
