SUMMARY

If you want to set up hidden shares on a Windows for Workgroups (WfW) workstation, add a dollar sign ($) to the end of the share name in the WfW Share Directory dialog box. Once you've done this, the share will not appear in browse lists or through NET VIEW commands. The share can still be connected to from WfW and LAN Man clients with the proper permissions.
