This article was previously published under Q96455 SUMMARY
The Useful Life option in version 3.0 of Microsoft Mail for PC Networks is
the amount of time a mail message will be held at a postoffice before being
sent back to the originator if delivery could not be completed. The default
for this option in version 3.0 of Microsoft Mail for MS-DOS and version 3.0
of Microsoft Mail for Windows is 24 hours.
The user can configure this option in the MS-DOS client of Microsoft Mail.
Changing the default in the MS-DOS client has no impact on the Windows
client. The user cannot change the 24-hour default in Mail for Windows.
MORE INFORMATION
