SUMMARY

To print an ampersand (&) in a header or footer in Works for Windows, either use "header and footer paragraphs" or enter the ampersand twice in a standard one-line header or footer.

MORE INFORMATION

The ampersand is a special character and is used in a standard header or footer to cause alignment changes (&r, &l, &c) or to print items such as dates and times (&d, &t). To print the ampersand itself in a standard header or footer, you must enter it twice (&&). For example, to print the header "R&D enterprises", enter "R&&D enterprises" in a standard header, or just "R&D enterprises" if you are using header and footer paragraphs.

For a complete list of the uses of the ampersand in headers and footers, see page 58 of the "Microsoft Works for Windows User's Guide."
