If Microsoft Works for Windows displays the fonts and character formatting
correctly but prints only in a draft quality font without any formatting, check the following:
- From the File menu in Works for Windows, click Print.
In the Print dialog box, clear the Draft Quality
Printing check box.
- In Works for Windows 95, click Print from the File
menu. In Works, version 3.0, click Printer Setup from the
File menu.
- Make sure the printer model selected matches your printer.
- In Works for Windows 95, click Properties. In Work 3.0,
click Setup. If the Printer Setup dialog has a
Print Quality field, set it to Letter Quality.
Depending on the printer, the Options button (under Windows
3.1) or Device Options tab (under Windows 95) may need to
be selected first.
- If the dialog contains a Resolution setting (this will be
under the Graphics tab in Windows 95), increase the
resolution to a higher number. For example, with laser and ink jet
printers, choose 300 dots per inch.
- Check the printer cable connection. If the printer is connected via a
switch box, connect the printer directly to the computer.
- If you are using Windows version 3.1 and have a PostScript printer
installed, do the following:
- Select Printer Setup from the File menu and click
Options.
- Click Advanced.
- Clear the Use Printer Fonts for all True Type
Fonts check box.
- Clear the Use Substitution Table check box.
- Clear the Clear Memory Per Page check box.
