ACC: Must Exit to Create Multiple Import/Export Specifications (93136)

SYMPTOMS

If you want to create multiple new Import/Export specifications by using the Import/Export Setup dialog box, you must either exit the dialog box or delete or change each entry in the dialog box that does not apply to a new specification. The dialog box does not enable you to clear or reset each option inside the dialog box.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior in Microsoft Access 97 and 7.0


  1. Open the sample database Northwind.mdb.
  2. Highlight the Categories table.
  3. On the File menu, click Save As/Export. In the Save As dialog box click to select "To an External File or Database," and then click OK.
  4. In the Save Table dialog box, in the Save As Type box, select "Text Files (*.txt; *.csv; *.tab; *.asc)," and then click Export.
  5. The Export Text Wizard should come up at this point (or Text Export Wizard in Microsoft Access 7.0.) Click the Advanced button to create your Import/Export specification.
If you want to create another specification at this point, you must either exit the dialog box or manually delete all of the information that doesn't apply to the new specification, and then add all the new information for the new specification.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior in Microsoft Access Versions 1.x and 2.0


  1. Open any database or create a new one.
  2. On the File menu, click Imp/Exp Setup.
  3. Enter information in several fields.
  4. On the File menu, click Save As.
