This article describes how to prevent transactions from being posted before a specified date in Microsoft Office Small Business Accounting 2006.

To prevent transactions from being posted before a specified date, type a date in the Prevent posting before field. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. In Small Business Accounting, click Preferences on the Company menu.
  2. In the Company Preferences dialog box, click the Company tab.
  3. In the Fiscal Year area, type the date that you want in the Prevent posting before field.
  4. Click OK.
Transactions cannot be posted before this date.
