SYMPTOMS
A Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based computer that is using an Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) PowerNow! driver stops responding. This problem is most likely to occur when you run a video-intensive program. However, this problem can occur any time there is a power state change. CAUSE
This problem occurs because of a race condition in the processor driver. The processor driver is responsible for the AMD PowerNow! feature.RESOLUTIONWindows Server 2003 hotfix informationA supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article.
