OWA Hangs when opening or saving a Word attachment (924225)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to open or Save a Word Doc from OWA 2003 OWA appears to hang indefinately. Only some Word Documents seem to be affected, others open without incident.

CAUSE

Found that the CheckPoint Smart Defense module seems to think some Word documents (In this case it was a certain image embedded in the Word Document that casued the failure) are a security vunerability.

RESOLUTION

Disabling the module resolves the issue.
