Outlook "can't provide form scripting support" (924221)

SYMPTOMS

when we click on a new meeting request in terminal server session it comes up and tell us "Microsoft Office Outlook can't provide form scripting support. This feature is not currently install. Would you like to install it now?"

We click on yes and install the option from Office CD, when we close outlook and open it next time it will give the same prompt again.

RESOLUTION

  • There is a KB http://support.microsoft.com/?id=302003 which gives us 2 workarounds.
  • This KB will not help if they have installed using Citrix Installation Wizard.
  • Delete the following registry Key
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Features\9040210900063D11C8EF00054038389C "OutlookVBScript"
  • Backup up the reg key before deleting the same.
