CAUSE

This problem may occur if the store to which you want to move the mailbox contains a size restriction. Hexadecimal error code 0x4dd from event ID 8506 corresponds to decimal 1245. This decimal value corresponds to the following error from the ec.h file:
ecShutoffQuotaExceeded
This error indicates that the mailbox has reached its quota. This problem occurs if the mailbox that you want to move exceeds the size of the mailbox restriction that is specified for the destination store.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, perform one of the following actions:
  • Reduce the size of the mailbox that you want to move to make it smaller than the maximum mailbox size that is specified in the destination store.
  • Move the mailbox to a store that does not have a mailbox size restriction.
  • Modify the mailbox size restriction on the destination store. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Start the Exchange System Manager tool. To do this, click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.
    2. Expand Administrative Groups, expand the administrative group that contains the destination store, expand Servers, expand the server that contains the destination store, expand the storage group that contains the destination store, right-click Mailbox Store (ServerName), and then click Properties.
    3. In the Mailbox Store (ServerName) Properties dialog box, click the Limits tab.
    4. Under Storage limits, modify the values that appear in the following boxes to allow for the size of the source mailbox:
      • Prohibit send at (KB)
      • Prohibit send and receive at (KB)
    5. Click OK.
    6. Restart the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service.
