Event 1209 occurs after you apply hotfix 911030 to a server cluster that is running Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 1 (923424)

SYMPTOMS

After you apply the 911030 hotfix to a server cluster that is running Microsoft Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 1 (SP1), the following event message may be logged in the System log:

Event Type:	Error
Event Source:	ClusDisk
Event Category:	None
Event ID:	1209
Date:		6/13/2006
Time:		4:26:01 PM
User:		N/A
Computer:	<ComputerName>
Description:
Cluster service is requesting a bus reset for device \Device\ClusDisk0.

This problem occurs when the disk is unowned.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Windows Server 2003 service pack that contains this hotfix.
