A contact or a lead is not found when you use the Full Name field in the Advanced Search feature in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 (923057)

The hotfix that is discussed in this article is not available for the Chinese version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM or for the Japanese version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Advanced Search feature in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 to search for a contact or for a lead by using the Full Name field, the contact or the lead is not found.

Note If you type two spaces between the first name and the last name in the Full Name field in the Advanced Search feature, the contact or the lead is found.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 service pack that contains this hotfix.

Removal information

To remove this hotfix from a computer that is running Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0, use Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel. System administrators can use the Spunist.exe utility to remove this hotfix from a computer that is running Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0.

The Spuninst.exe tool is located in the %Windir%\$NTUninstallKB923057$\Spuninst folder.
