Information about the opening balance and the cash balance in Money Essentials (923033)


The information in this article applies to:

INTRODUCTION

When you create an investment account in Microsoft Money Essentials, you are asked for the estimated cash value of the account. If you enter a figure in the box, the amount will not affect the overall value of the newly created account.

Additionally, when you create a credit card account, the opening balance that you enter for the account is not reflected in the overall balance of the account.

MORE INFORMATION

The tracking of the cash value of your investment account and the tracking of the opening balance of your credit card account are considered to be advanced features. These features are not available in Money Essentials.

Note If you later upgrade the Money Essentials data file to Microsoft Money 2007 Deluxe, Microsoft Money 2007 Premium, or Microsoft Money 2007 Home & Business, these figures will be displayed. Additionally, the figures can be edited.
