You cannot run calculations in Excel after exporting reports from Microsoft Office Small Business Accounting (922102)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Office Small Business Accounting 2006
- Microsoft Office Small Business Management Edition 2006
SYMPTOMSYou export reports from Microsoft Office Small Business
Accounting to Microsoft Excel. Then,
you enter calculations in
a cell in Excel. When you do this, Excel does not run
the calculations that you entered. Instead, Excel displays the text of the
calculations.CAUSEThis problem occurs because the format of the cell in which you entered calculations is not set to a numeric value.RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, correctly format the cell in which you want to enter calculations.
To do this, follow these steps:
- In Excel, right-click the cell in which you want to enter calculations. Then, click Format Cells.
- On the Number tab, select a category that
accepts number formats. For example, you can select Number or
Currency.
- Click OK.
- Enter the
calculations into the cell that you just formatted.
Note Excel will run the calculations.
