This article describes the Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005 issues that are fixed in the post-Service Pack 1 hotfix package that is dated July 21, 2006.

This hotfix package fixes the following issues:
  • 922228 Error message 503 is returned when a client computer tries to connect to an Office Live Communications Server 2005 server

  • 922230 Remote users cannot sign in through an Access Proxy, and all messages may be unexpectedly discarded by Live Communications Server 2005

  • 922231 A request that is sent to a Live Communications Server 2005 access proxy array is rejected

  • 922232 A message session cannot be completed when an internal user or a remote user uses Office Live Communications Server 2005 to initiate a conversation

  • 922655 A computer that is running Live Communications Server 2005 may stop responding

Hotfix installation information

Do not apply the hotfix on the first internal hop from the access proxy before the hotfix is applied on the other internal servers. If you do this, the Remote Access and Federation scenarios will be broken until all the other internal servers are upgraded with the hotfix. Apply the hotfix in your environment in the following order:
  1. Apply the hotfix on all access proxy servers.
  2. Apply the hotfix on all internal servers, except the next hop from the access proxy.
  3. Apply the hotfix on the next hop from the access proxy. This server is usually the Live Communications Server 2005, Director.

Restart information

You do not have to restart your computer after you apply this hotfix.

Hotfix replacement information

This hotfix is not replaced by any later hotfix.
