Server ServerName is available, but the Site Server Content Deployment service is not running
Note ServerName represents the CSS server name.

The service was started successfully
However, you receive the same error message after you start the CSS service.

Note You find that all other functions of the Commerce Server Staging MMC snap-in are installed and function correctly.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because the TCP 507 port is restricted or blocked on the Commerce Server 2007 server. However, the TCP 507 port is required for the CSS service.

  1. In Control Pane, open Network Connections.
  2. Double-click Local Area Connections.
  3. On the General tab, click Protocols, click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and then click Properties.
  4. Click Advanced, click the Options tab, click to select the TCP/IP filtering check box, and then click Properties.
  5. Verify that the Enable TCP/IP filtering (All adapters) check box is selected. and then enable the TCP 507 port.
  6. Click OK three times, click Close, and then click Yes to restart the Commerce Server 2007 server.
Note Only TCP ports are required for general Commerce Server Staging (CSS). UDP port restriction is not affected.
