Error message when you try to install the Spanish language version of Windows Server 2003 on an AMD platform: "El programa de instalación no puede obtener acceso a los archivos necesarios para continuar" (921376)

SYMPTOMSConsider the following scenario. You try to install the
Spanish language version of either Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1
(SP1) or Windows Server 2003 R2 on a computer that has an Advanced Micro
Devices (AMD) processor. Additionally, you start the installation process from
a Windows Server 2003 CD. In this scenario, you receive the following error
message at the start of the graphical user interface (GUI) installation
phase: El programa de instalación no puede obtener acceso
a los archivos necesarios para continuar. Puede ser debido a un error del CD o
que éste ya no esté en la unidad CAUSEThis problem occurs if the following conditions are true:
- The Txtsetup.sif file contains an error.
- The Admide.sys file is not correctly loaded. The Admide.sys
file is used to access the CD drive on a computer that has an AMD
processor.
WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, use one of the following
methods. Method 1Perform an unattended installation. Method 2Start the installation process by using Remote Installation
Services (RIS). Method 3Use any other method by which you do not have to access the CD
drive during the installation process. Method 4- Use the utilities in the Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit
to create a CD image.
- Open the Txtsetup.sif file, and then locate the following
line:
