INTRODUCTION

This article describes how to use Commerce Server Staging (CSS) on Microsoft Commerce Server 2007 to replicate Web content and business data to another server that is in a different domain.

MORE INFORMATION

To use Commerce Server Staging to replicate Web content and business data to another domain, the source server and the destination server must have the same account. In other words, the account must have the same user name and password. If the server is a domain controller, you can use a domain user name and the same password. If either source server or destination server is a stand-alone server, you must create a local user account and the same password. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. CSS1 is a stand-alone server in Domain 1. CSS2 is a stand-alone server in Domain2. On the CSS1 server, create a local user account that is named UserName1, and then create a password.
  2. Add the UserName1 account to the Commerce Server Staging administrators group on the CSS1 server.
  3. On the CSS2 server, create a local user account that is named UserName1, and then create the same password.
  4. Add the UserName1 account to the Commerce Server Staging administrators group on the CSS2 server.
