Error 29528. The setup has encountered an unexpected error while Setting reporting service and share point exclusion path. The error is: Fatal error during installation.
<Failure Type='Fatal' Error='29556'> CAUSEThis problem occurs when the IP address for the Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) Default Web Site setting is not set to All Unassigned.
If the SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services setup process cannot detect the Default Web Site setting, a new Web site is created. When SQL Server tries to configure the new Web site, the setup process fails, and an error message is generated.
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, follow these steps: - Click Start, click Administrative Tools, and then click Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
- In the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager MMC snap-in, expand ServerName, expand Web Sites, right-click Default Web Site, and then click Properties.
- In the Default Web site Properties dialog box, click the Web Site tab, click the list next to IP address, click (All Unassigned), and then click OK.
- Reinstall SQL Server 2005. Select the SQL Reporting Services option during the installation process..
- After you successfully install SQL Server 2005 and SQL Reporting Services, repeat steps 1 through 3, but reset the Default Web Site IP address to the internal IP address.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
