The Microsoft Exchange Information Store service stops unexpectedly when you try to use Cached Exchange Mode in Exchange Server 2003 (920744)



The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Standard Edition
  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Enterprise Edition, when used with:
    • Microsoft Office Outlook 2003

SYMPTOMS

You try to use Cached Exchange Mode in Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 to synchronize a message with Microsoft Exchange Server 2003. When you do this, the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service may stop unexpectedly.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Exchange Server 2003 service pack that contains this hotfix.
