How to filter e-mail messages that contain only a space character in the Sender field in Sybari Antigen 8.0 for Microsoft Exchange (920650)

You may experience behavior in which Antigen does not filter certain messages that appear to have a blank Sender field or a blank Subject field. You experience this behavior after you configure Antigen to filter these kinds of messages. This behavior occurs if the Sender field or the Subject field in the e-mail message contains only a space character. In this situation, the field appears to be blank. However, the field actually contains a character. To configure Antigen to filter these kinds of messages, follow these steps:

1. Start the Sybari Client program, and then connect to the server that is running Antigen.
2. In Shuttle Navigator, click FILTERING, and then click Content.
3. In the Content Fields work panel, click Sender-Domain.
4. Click Add, type Unknown in the Content Filters work panel, and then press ENTER.
5. If you want Antigen to remove e-mail messages that contain only a space character in the Sender field, click Purge: eliminate message in the Action list.
6. Click Save.
7. In the Content Fields work panel, click Subject Line.
8. Click Add, type Unknown in the Content Filters work panel, and then press ENTER.
9. If you want Antigen to remove e-mail messages that contain only a space character in the Subject field, click Purge: eliminate message in the Action list.
10. Click Save.
