SYMPTOMS

When a program on a Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based computer is automatically stopped, an access violation occurs. For example, this problem occurs if the system is configured to automatically stop and then restart a particular program every morning. To recover from this problem, you must manually restart the computer.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing.
