Error message when a user tries to view a contact's properties in the GAL in Outlook Web Access on Exchange Server 2003: "HTTP 500 - Internal server error" (919759)

SYMPTOMS When a user tries to view a contact's properties in the global address list (GAL) in Microsoft Outlook Web Access, the user may receive the following error message: HTTP 500 - Internal server error CAUSEThis problem may occur if the following conditions are true: - The user is connected to a Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 front-end server.
- The user views a contact in the GAL by opening a new form in Outlook Web Access. For example, the user clicks To in a new e-mail message. Then, the user tries to view the properties of a contact in the GAL.
- The user account is not a mailbox-enabled account in Exchange Server.
- The user has Full Mailbox permissions on another mailbox.
RESOLUTIONHotfix informationA supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 service pack that contains this hotfix. To resolve this problem immediately, contact Microsoft Product Support Services to obtain the hotfix.
