SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
  • A Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based computer that is running Microsoft Exchange Server is joined to a single domain controller.
  • The computer sends Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) packets to the domain controller.
  • The domain controller does not respond to the LDAP packets.
In this scenario, the computer stops responding.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because Windows Server 2003 incorrectly implements LDAP.
