You cannot synchronize a Windows Mobile 5.0-based Pocket PC in Virtual PC for Mac Version 7 or in Virtual PC for Mac version 6.1 (919522)


The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Virtual PC for Mac Version 7
  • Microsoft Virtual PC for Mac version 6.1

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Virtual PC for Mac Version 7 or in Microsoft Virtual PC for Mac version 6.1, you cannot synchronize a Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0-based Pocket PC device.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because of a design change in the Windows Mobile 5.0 software.

MORE INFORMATION

As of June 2, 2006, there is no resolution or workaround for this issue.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Windows Mobile 5.0 software for Pocket PCs.
