SYMPTOMSWhen you try to install Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 on a
64-bit computer, you may receive the following error message in the just-in-time (JIT) debugger window: An unhandled win32
exception occurred in setup.exe [2940] Additionally, you experience
this problem when Visual Studio 2005 is installing the last component. This component is
the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 SDK (x64). Note The installation procedure succeeds, even though you receive the
error message. CAUSEThis problem occurs because the Intel IXP package for the x64 SDK is
too big.WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, copy Visual Studio 2005 files
to the hard disk. Then, install Visual Studio 2005 from the hard
disk.
