FIX: The content of the destination file may be corrupted when you copy a file that you share by using the Windows CE 5.0 SMB File Server component (919267)

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. You store a large file on a flash memory card. You share the file by using the Microsoft Windows CE 5.0 server message block (SMB) File Server component. You copy the shared file to another device. In this scenario, the content of the destination file may be corrupted.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the Windows CE 5.0 SMB File Server component does not correctly handle concurrent (overlapping) read requests at different file offsets.

RESOLUTION

Prerequisites

This update is supported only if all previous updates for this product are also installed.

Restart requirement

After you install this update, you must perform a clean build of the whole platform. To clean the platform, click Clean on the Build menu. To build the platform, click Build Platform on the Build menu. You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this update.
