SYMPTOMS

A Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 user replies to an e-mail message from a Lotus Notes user. The e-mail message includes a picture or an embedded graphic. When this occurs, the Lotus Notes user receives a message in which the picture or the embedded graphic is missing. Alternatively, random ASCII characters appear where the picture should be.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when the message format is changed to Plain Text.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, install the latest version of Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Connector for Lotus Notes. To do this, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
