FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions is incompatible with Application Center 2000 (919142)

SYMPTOMS

After you install FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions from Microsoft on a computer that is running Microsoft Application Center 2000, you may experience the following problems in Application Center:
  • Content authors cannot update content.
  • Forms do not submit data to databases.

CAUSE

FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions uses local user accounts for roles and permissions. Application Center 2000 does not replicate local user accounts. This behavior causes the security mechanism to break. Therefore, FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions and Application Center 2002 are incompatible.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, use FrontPage 2000 Server Extensions together with Application Center 2000.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Application Center 2000.
