Application isolation refers to the degree of separation between Web applications that are running on the same Web server. When you use effective application isolation, a Web application cannot access resources that are used by another Web application. These resources include processes, files, and users. Internet service providers (ISPs) in particular must be able to configure a high level of application isolation so a customer Web site cannot access another customer application or customer resources.
