Error message when you try to start a guest operating system from a saved state in Virtual PC for Mac Version 7: "The PC could not be restored" (918910)

SYMPTOMS
When you try to start a guest operating system from a saved state in Microsoft Virtual PC for Mac Version 7, you may receive the following error message:
The PC could not be restored because one of the hard disk images has been modified since the PC was saved.
Additionally, you cannot start the guest operating system. CAUSE
This problem may occur if the guest operating system's memory image is corrupted.RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, delete the SavedState.vsv file. This file contains the memory image for the guest operating system. Note When you follow these steps, any changes that were made in the virtual machine are lost. This applies to any unsaved data, and any software that was running in the virtual machine. To delete the SavedState.vsv file, follow these steps:
- Exit Virtual PC for Mac Version 7.
- Open the following folder in Finder:
Hard Drive:Users:username:Documents:Virtual PC List - Press and hold down the CTRL key while you click the guest operating system file.
- Click Show Package Contents.
- Drag the SavedState.vsv file to the Trash.
