SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
  • Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004 Service Pack 1 (SP1) and the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 are installed on the computer.
  • In Microsoft Visual Studio, you create a Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004 solution that contains three schemas at the project level.
  • In the solution, Schema A imports Schema B and Schema C.
  • In the solution, Schema B imports Schema C.
In this scenario, you receive an error message that resembles the following when you try to build the solution:
Object reference not set to an instance of an object

CAUSE

This issue occurs if you have not installed the Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004 SP1 Update for the .NET Framework 1.1.
