FIX: It takes a long time for a folder to open when you use Windows Explorer on a Windows CE 5.0-based device (918831)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Windows CE 5.0

SYMPTOMS

On a Microsoft Windows CE 5.0-based device, you use Microsoft Windows Explorer to open a folder that contains many files. When you do this, it takes a long time for the folder to open. For example, it may take 50 percent longer for the folder to open on Windows CE 5.0 than it takes for the folder to open on an earlier version of Windows CE. Additionally, Windows Explorer may appear to stop responding when you select lots of files in a folder or when you cancel the selection of lots of files in a folder.
