SYMPTOMSWhen you try to restore a Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services database, you experience the following symptoms: - You receive an access violation error message.
- The Analysis Services service stops and then restarts.
- The Analysis Services database creates frequent minidump files until the Analysis Services database is restored.
This problem occurs when multiple queries are running against the Analysis Services database at the same time as the Analysis Services database is being restored. CAUSEThis problem occurs because of a problem in the Analysis Services database lock manager.
During the final phase of the restore process, Analysis Services tries to reset the cube scopes, the session scopes, and the query scopes for objects in the database that no longer have active queries. This problem causes Analysis Services to try to reset the cube scopes, the session scopes, and the query scopes for objects in the database that still have active queries.RESOLUTIONHotfix informationA supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article.
