Summary list of monthly detection and deployment guidance articles in 2005 (918734)

INTRODUCTION

As part of an ongoing commitment to provide detection tools and deployment recommendations for security updates, Microsoft is delivering this summary list of detection and deployment guidance articles. These guidance articles contain detection and deployment recommendations that are based on the types of scenarios that may exist in various Microsoft operating system environments. Each guide in the following list describes the use of tools such as Microsoft Windows Update, Microsoft Office Update, the Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer (MBSA), the Office Detection Tool, Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS), the Extended Security Update Inventory Tool, and the Enterprise Scan Tool (EST). Currently, the guidance articles in this list do not apply to 64-bit systems. Microsoft plans to add this information in future releases of the detection and deployment guidance articles.
