SYMPTOMS

When you accept a meeting request in Microsoft Office Outlook 2003, the reminder for the meeting is removed.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if a rule to flag all received messages has been applied in Outlook 2003. An example of such a rule is as follows:

"Apply this rule after the message arrives sent only to me flag message with Red"

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, modify the rule to exclude meeting requests. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Rules and Alerts.
  2. In the Rule list, click the rule that you want to modify.
  3. Click Change Rule, and then click Edit Rule Settings.
  4. On the Which condition(s) do you want to check page, click Next.
  5. On the What do you want to do with the message page, click Next.
  6. On the Are there any exceptions page, click to select the except if it is a meeting invitation or update check box, and then click Finish.
