The login account of SQL Server 2005 Integration Services changes to Network Service after you install SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 1 (918633)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 1

SYMPTOMS

If you have Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Integration Services (SSIS) installed on your computer, the login account of SSIS is changed to Network Service after you install Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 1 (SP1).

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, manually change back the login account of SSIS to the account that SSIS used before you installed SQL Server 2005 SP1.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

MORE INFORMATION

By default, the login account for SSIS is set to Network Service during installation. You cannot manually specify the login account for SSIS during installation. However, you can manually change the login account for SSIS after installation. This behavior is also true of SQL Server 2005 SP1. SQL Server 2005 SP1 sets the login account for SSIS to Network Service regardless of the login account that SSIS used before you installed SQL Server 2005 SP1.

However, if you have not manually changed the login account for SSIS after installation, the login account remains Network Service after you install SQL Server 2005 SP1. Therefore, you do not have to change anything after you install SQL Server 2005 SP1.
