SYMPTOMS

When you try to validate Microsoft Office 2003 or Microsoft Office XP by using Office Genuine Advantage, you receive one of the following error messages:

Error message 1

Unable to Validate.

Error message 2

Error code: 0x8018111

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, your computer must be running one of the following Microsoft Windows operating systems to successfully validate Office 2003 or Office XP:
  • Microsoft Windows XP
  • Microsoft Windows 2000
If you have Office 2003 or Office XP installed on a computer that is running Windows XP or Windows 2000, try to validate Office again.
