FIX: Some features are not available in the original CSF management pack when you use the administrative function in the Connected Services Framework 2.5 (917707)

SYMPTOMS

When you use the administrative function in the Microsoft Connected Services Framework (CSF) 2.5, some features are not available in the original CSF management pack. For example, the following features are not available:
  • Alert suppression
  • Microsoft Knowledge Base information
  • Event categorization

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that this article describes. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

Steps to apply the hotfix

This hotfix includes a new CSF management pack. To apply this hotfix, follow these steps:
  1. Start the Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) 2005 Administrator console.
  2. Right-click Management Packs, and then click Import/Export Management Pack.
  3. Click Next, click Import the Management Pack and/or reports, and then click Next.
  4. In the Select the folder where the Management Pack (or report files) are located box, type the path of the Microsoft Connected Services Framework.akm file, click Import Management Pack only, and then click Next.
  5. Click the Microsoft Connected Services Framework.akm file, click Replace existing Management Pack, and then click Next.
  6. Click Finish, and then click Close.
  7. In the MOM Administrator console, expand Computer groups, right-click Microsoft CSF Servers, and then click Properties.
  8. Click the Included Computers tag, click Add, select the computer that is hosting the Connected Services Framework components, and then click OK two times.

The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later file attributes) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time item in Control Panel.
